The mistake I made was thinking that we always need to purchase the Lightning Lane Multi-pass in order to enjoy our day at Disneyland.
For our most recent trip, we decided not to get the Lightning Lane Multi-passes, and believe or not, we still rode nearly everything we wanted to ride. Even better, we all felt more relaxed during this visit than we usually do. There is something said for not having to be on your phone scheduling rides. There’s also something said for not having a schedule at all. We truly enjoyed being able to just wander around, explore, and discover things we hadn’t discovered before. Yes, some lines were a bit tedious, but the majority of them seemed to go by fairly quick.
Now, this doesn’t mean that I won’t ever splurge and get the lightning lane multipass. There are days that it comes in really handy. I’ve just learned that, especially if I want to save some money, I don’t need to get the passes for every day of our trip or every time we visit. I just posted on the blog about this realization and more tips on how to stay on a budget if you visit Disneyland. Just a little shout out and Happy Birthday to my husband, Tom! ❤️🎁 This photo was from our Disney trip last week. We are actually home this weekend celebrating and trying to relax a little.
His day kicks off our busy month of birthdays. Both of the kid’s birthdays are also this month. Just a big fun month of celebrations - and then in April, I sleep. 😂 😴 #happybirthday #disneycaliforniaadventurepark
Ahh, nothing beats the first day of vacation, knowing you still have the whole trip ahead of you. #vacationmode #disneyland #disneymom #disneylandresort #mainstreetusa
A few pics from the week. The kids had the week off, so we headed to Disneyland for some manufactured happiness. A little sunshine and fun was just what we needed. Do your kids get the entire president’s week off? #disneyland #schoolbreak #bayareafamily #disneyfamily

I think I want to start a whole series on all the delicious food I’ve tried on my travels that I still crave while I am at home. The Mexican Lime soup that I had in the Yucatan was calling to me and I needed to try to recreate some version of it. I am so happy with how this tortilla soup turned out. The extra lime flavor gives it the zing that I was craving. Cheers and Happy Friday! I was craving pasta and an Aperol Spritz and since I couldn’t jet off to Italy, we headed to @eatalysiliconvalley instead. The Fettuccine Al Burro definitely hit the spot. Do you have a @eataly near you? #eataly #fridayvibes #aperolspritz #fettuccine #datenight

I am unbelievably grateful for all the memories we’ve made so far. Hopefully, we have many more adventures ahead of us.
I am also grateful that we started our travels when our kids were younger because I’m learning that some things only get more complicated as they age. Now that our kids are both teens, schedules are more complex, travel becomes more expensive ( we’re practically paying for four adults now), and we get a bit more pushback on things than when they were younger. Traveling with teens comes with its own set of unique challenges. But if I’m being honest, the challenges are worth it. I have a new blog post about traveling with teens and some ways to ensure a successful and memorable trip—link in bio. #wanderlust #familytravel #europetravel #greecetravel #italytravel #hawaiitravel #costaricatravel #mexicotravel #usatravel #travelwithkids #travelwithteens
