Who else has spring break on their mind? Thinking about spring break sounded a lot better than my current situation where I’m sitting at home with sick kiddos.

I started looking through our old pics from Costa Rica and started thinking that we really need another family adventure soon. We just loved Costa Rica.

Here’s my question. Where should we go for this year’s Spring break? Any suggestions? I am actually sweating a little bit because I’ve never waited this long to book spring break. I usually have it booked by the beginning of November. I am hoping to still find something amazing and reasonably priced. Is that even possible? Where are you headed for spring break this year? I need inspiration. Cheers to not having to cook tonight!!
After this incredibly long week we all needed an evening out, and I definitely needed this spicy jalapeño Margarita!

We had the tastiest dinner at @pacificcatch ! It’s our go-to place when we are craving delicious seafood. I usually get the poke, but this time I tried the lobster roll and it definitely did not disappoint. When you go out to eat, do you try different things, or do you tend to order the same thing? If there was a “Supermom” superhero, what superpower do you think she’d have? Speed? Strength? Endless energy? The gift of foresight? Super intelligence? Confidence? I think she’d have to have all of the above… and then some.

I could totally use any of these supermom superpowers this week! We have a few IEP meetings scheduled over the next few days. I assumed these meetings (and parenthood in general) would gradually get easier as time passed. Boy, was I wrong! I don’t know that it ever gets easier… it just becomes “different.” I think I am okay with that. Oh well, wish me luck!

I’ve been a little quiet and off the gram this week because I’ve been a bit under the weather.

It was total happenstance that I ended up making this Great Northern Bean Soup the day before I started feeling ill. Nothing is better than soup on a cold day or when you’re not feeling the greatest.

What a Monday! Did anyone else have the hardest time getting up and getting back to normal today?

Last night was one of those nights where my mind wouldn’t turn off, and I think I finally fell asleep sometime in the 4 o’clock hour. Needless to say this morning was ROUGH. Is anyone else in the weird Holiday void, where you do nothing but wonder around your house not knowing what day it is? That is currently where I am.

We were supposed to be on our way to Chicago to see my family, but unfortunately our plans got canceled. Well actually I should say delayed. We’re going to try to reschedule in the next month or two.

So instead of wandering around the house anymore the winter break, we are headed up to Yosemite this afternoon! Wish us luck that the roads stay open, there is supposed to be a break in the snow today! #holidayvoid #christmasvoid #afterchristmas #holidayhangover

Is anyone else in disbelief that Christmas is only 10 days away?

Are you ready? Or are you like me and are no where near ready yet? I still have some shopping, shipping and wrapping to do. In addition to that, I haven’t even started baking, planning, packing etc. I wish that Thanksgiving didn’t have to be so darn close to Christmas. I feel like the entire season is just more and more condensed each year.

We missed him last year due to Covid, so I was insistent on visiting Santa this year despite whether or not the kids wanted to. I’ve got to get my photos while I still can, right?

Do you put up the same holiday decorations each year, or do you like to mix it up?

We put up a lot of the same, but we’ve gotten into the habit of adding something new each year. These holiday arches are our newest edition.

I had always admired the lit walk through pathway arches. Last year my husband and son surprised me by building me my own. We liked them so much, we built them again this year and even added some more!

They are pretty easy to make. All you need is: pvc piping, rebar, pvc connectors, lights, and as much or as little decor you want to add. I have the entire supply list and directions up on the blog right now. Link in bio. I am also putting up a reel if I can actually get it to work!
